The best album by a Boston band post has set off a torrent of comments and emails, which I will try to address in upcoming posts--I have a lot to compile. Meanwhile head over to Joe Harvard's Boston Rock Storybook a goldmine of band bios, photos, and his own stories.
Update: Hub Blog has another set of recommendations.
I want to mention Unnatural Axe, who can be seen in the documentary You'll Pay for This. I caught the Dorchester premier of the movie last October, along with a performance by the band. Amazing!
Update 2: Coincidence? The new issue of the Boston Phoenix has article about Rick Harte and the Ace of Hearts record label which has just released a compilation CD, 12 Classic 45s. You can read a review here but any CD with Mission of Burma, The Lyres, The Neighborhoods, and The Neats, among others, is going to rock regardless.
Update 3: The Dogmatics are playing TT the Bear's on 6 May. Charlie Chesterman will play the Abbey Lounge 29 April with the Classic Ruins, who appear on the Ace of Hearts compilation mentioned above, and the The Incredible Casuals.
