The registration deadline is approaching for the 2006 Massachusetts History Conference "Outside the Textbook: Writing History for Everyone", sponsored by the Massachusetts Foundation for the Humanities and the University of Massachusetts Program in Public History. I will be part of the panel "Creative Publishing Options for Local History" and I will be talking about some of the nuts and bolts of history blogging along with the potential benefits blogs offer history organizations. The real draw of the conference is the novelist Anita Diamant, who will give the keynote. The conference will be held on Monday, 12 June 2006 at Clark University in Worcester. For more details on the program and for registration information go here. The registration deadline is 1 June 2006.
Keeping with the "Writing History for Everyone" theme, Adam Gaffin has brought a new history blog to my attention. Boston 1775 is just the thing for those of you interested in how Bostonians (and other local folks) experienced the American Revolution.
